The Sims 3 Patch Download 1.67

Patch 67 is a game patch for The Sims 3, and was released on January 24, 2014. You can download it through The Sims 3's Launcher, or directly download from EA server. The download will be handled by a 3rd party download manager that provides an easier and safer download and installation of The Sims 3 patch. Additionally, the download manager offers the optional installation of several safe and trusted 3rd party applications and browser plugins which you may choose to install or not during the download process.

Edit January 20, 2016: It looks like that The Sims 3 Expansion Packs and Stuff Packs downloaded from Origin will no longer work with The Sims 3 (version 1.67 or earlier) so that means any version of The Sims 3 (including most DVD versions) with 1.67 and earlier will no longer work with EPs/SPs from Origin.
The only way to avoid 1.69 is having The Sims 3 base game on DVD along with all EPs/SPs on DVD. However, that means having to deal with the disc in drive requirement. If you have EPs/SPs on Origin, that will mean you must install 1.69 to use the EPs/SPs or play on 1.67 without those packs. This shouldn't be a problem if you own the EPs/SPs on DVD but if you only own the Origin versions of those games, you're probably out of luck. Alternatively, you could play The Sims 3 on Steam.
In November 12, 2015, EA has released the 1.69 update which is probably considered controversial among Simmers. For discussing the update, see What do you think of the 1.69 changes?. There may be some reasons you'll not want 1.69 such as using mods that need 1.67, having the ability to bypass the launcher, and starting The Sims 3 without running Origin as with The Sims Medieval and The Sims 4. This thread is to help you get version 1.67 after November 12, 2015.
Notice to 2009-2011 TS3 DVD users: Be sure that you have Origin to not auto-update your games. Otherwise, Origin will attempt to update your The Sims 3 game to 1.69. This only matters if The Sims 3 is included in your Library, if your Library doesn't include The Sims 3 or includes a different edition (e.g., The Sims 3 Starter Pack), you probably shouldn't get 1.69 when installing the original The Sims 3 game from 2009-2011.
Your Library probably includes the original The Sims 3 because you might have activated The Sims 3 or The Sims 3 Collector's Edition, purchased it from Origin when it was still being sold, or activated it from Steam. Currently, the only base game sold on Origin is The Sims 3 Starter Pack but chances are you might still own the original The Sims 3 on Origin.
Here are some notes to get you aware.
  • The OS X version of The Sims 3 is not affected by this change.
  • To prevent Origin from updating The Sims 3, disable the auto-updates so that Origin doesn't try to update The Sims 3.
  • If you download The Sims 3 on Windows from Origin after November 12, 2015, it will have the 1.69 update. You'll need to install the Base Game through other methods to get version 1.67 or earlier.
  • If your Sims 3 game was updated to 1.69, I think you can uninstall The Sims 3 and than reinstall the base game through a DVD and then apply the 1.67 update.
  • As of January 2016, it is no longer possible to use Origin download EPs/SPs with any TS3 game running 1.67 or earlier.
  • To download 1.67, you can use this thread Official EA Download Link for The Sims 3 *Cumulative* Manual Update created by @Nichaedemus which has the link to the 1.67 update, it still works. This will not work if The Sims 3 was updated to 1.69 through Origin.
  • The 1.67 Superpatch will work for all regions of The Sims 3. Also please note that it's 1.62 GB in size so it might take a while to download.
  • Saves created in 1.69 are not blocked from being loaded if you have 1.67 although you'll still need the appropriate EPs/SPs and/or Store Worlds to load certain saves.

The
Here are some ways you can get an older version of The Sims 3.
  • Use a DVD version of The Sims 3 to install the base game and then update to 1.67. This will not work with The Sims 3 Starter Pack or any TS3 base game made in 2012
  • If The Sims 3 was downloaded prior to November 12, 2015 and wasn't updated above the original version, you could run its setup file (be sure to point the installer to where the The Sims 3 folder is located). You can then apply the 1.67 update.
  • To use Expansion Packs or Stuff Packs with 1.67, you'll either need a DVD version of the EP/SP or files of the Origin version that was downloaded prior to Jan 2016.

Here are the 3 different covers (they are the same across the US and EU)

The Sims 3 2nd Cover (2011-2012) also seen on Origin.

Sims 3 Patch 1.67 Download

Probably the easiest method of obtaining 1.67 is using a DVD version of The Sims 3. If you don't have one, you could buy one for under ยง20. When shopping for The Sims 3 online, be sure you buy the disc/DVD release. If you have the original The Sims 3 on Origin, you can easily 2012 copies of The Sims 3 base game may not work as they use Origin. I used the 2009 release of The Sims 3 which has the first cover version.
If you downloaded The Sims 3 before November 12, 2015 and made a backup of the installation, you can use the backup installation. Install it though the setup file in The Sims 3 folder. Be sure to use a custom directory and point the installer to where The Sims 3 folder is located at. Otherwise, The Sims 3 will not work.

The Sims 3 Game Update 1.67 Download

If you want to use EPs/SPs with 1.67 or earlier, you will need the DVD versions of those packs as Origin will tell you that 1.69 is required if you attempt to download them. If you don't have a DVD version of your EP/SP but you have them on Origin, you won't be able to use these EPs/SPs with your DVD base game unless you update to 1.69. It also means that any EPs/SPs purchased as a download from Origin or other stores (e.g., Amazon or GameStop) will not work with with 1.67 anymore.
I hope this helped you.
