As title states, I'm impatient with the roll out of new content coming to NA version so I transitioned to the Japanese version and here is what I found ... FYI i have a fully geared KFM in NA version with True Pirate 10 and True siren accessories...just got bored of current grind and wanted to see what the future holds.

• Daily spin right now consists of rewarding you with hongmoon coins throughout the entire cycle

• Hongmoon store you can out right pay for some costumes you would normally farm dungeons for in NA e.g. (Burning Flames)

• Hongmoon store also has a box you can get a full true siren set of gear. (not really pay2win...but rather pay2progress faster) its no different than buying gold through currency exchange and using marketplace to buy soulstones to upgrade your gear...actually cheaper to progress in japan vs NA version if you were to use real money.

• Wardrobe is available for non-premium still baffles me this isnt the case for NA

• Theres a few costumes that are just reskin(diff colors)...tad bit disappointing but understandable...would rather just have Dye's included so i can reskin myself.

• You can pay for the class effect when running that you get from NA premium

• Leveling from 1-45 is faster...feels faster...content feels easier.. It feels like NA mobs got a buff unless Soul Fighter is just OP...

• Optimization... yes its optimized. getting 60fps throughout the game ..i live in hawaii and getting about 130 ms as well. Doesnt feel laggy and feels smooth throughout... havent done Blackwyrm. Japan servers seem dead and the server im on doesnt have many players but the game experience feels less sluggish. Im surprised NA didnt get a more polished build...it would have kept many players staying rather than leaving.

• Havent done 50 content yet but theres a lot out there...there is currently an event going on in a dungeon in Jade Village that rewards you based on how fast you clear and you have to race to the boss...no actual mobs just mushroom nuisances which is a different change of pace considering the bland dungeons...sort of felt like a Guild Wars 2 dungeon when going through it...was actually fun even though I couldn't clear.

• More pvp rewards and battleground rewards - legendary items/souls etc.

• Haven't seen any bots

• Server is low pop- no spam not sure how it was before

thats it for now, ill check back when i start doing 50 content.

NCSoft’s free-to-play martial arts MMORPG, Blade and Soul, has had 13 major updates since its launch in January last year and can boast that over four million players have had a bash at it. NCSoft have now released new details of its latest expansion, Secrets of the Stratus.

Secrets of the Stratus will overhaul the skill system and add plenty of new content to punch through. Act VII of the main story will be added, as will the following:

• Naryu sanctum – a challenging dungeon for six players
• Celestial basin – a new open-world area for solo and casual players
• Mushin’s tower – new floors and leaderboards are being added to this solo dungeon
• Training room – a solo instance for players to practice skill combos and attack patterns
• New legendary items, new cosmetics, new pets

NCSoft say the current, “fiddly” skill tree will be removed and replaced with “a simpler, streamlined selection so you can pick your skills with ease.” They promise that no skills have changed, just the way they’re selected.
